Ditch The Chemicals

Do you know what is lingering in your home cleaning supplies?

Carcinogens......yes, chemicals that are cancer causing amongst other things, e.g. eye and mucous irritants, chemicals that cause damage to the nervous system and cause depression, etc.

Doctors are in a fight against time to prove how these chemicals damage our bodies, but as with smoking it takes time to prove the effects, it doesn't happen overnight. The companies that manufacture these products, such as Lysol Disinfectant Wipes, claim that the amount of carcinogens are so minuscule that it is completely harmless. can any amount of cancer causing product be harmless?

Does smoking two cigarettes a day vs. a whole pack mean that the cigarette smoke and chemicals don't get into your lungs?

The major problem is that almost everything we use, from cleaning supplies to beauty products to foods, all contain a small amount of something that isn't good for us. At the end of the day, we are inhaling and ingesting a large amount of little substances that add up to a whole.

We are a society of convenience and are unwilling to give that up. I am urging you to, because this really is a matter of life and death. I know for a fact that the ratio of people getting cancer these days increase on a yearly basis. I used to know of maybe one person ever five years, where now I hear about five people every year.

What are my alternatives you ask?

The alternatives are the natural ingredients that our ancestors have been using for decades. Vinegar, baking soda, borax, etc. There is a great book that teaches you how to make your own household cleaning supplies called HOMEMADE by the Reader's Digest. Below are a couple of recipes that I have included from this book for your most basic needs.
